It was posted on his website yesterday that Levon Helm is entering the final stages of cancer and is unlikely to make a recovery. Levon was the drummer for "The Band" and went on to have many other music projects including, most recently, some solo work called "Dirt Farmer" and "Electric Dirt" which cataloged the struggles of the American farmer. I had the pleasure of seeing Levon and his band, which included his daughter, Amy, nearly 3 years ago at the Red Rocks Amphitheater just outside Denver, CO.
